Donation Refund & Cancellation Policy
As a registered charitable non-profit, Swabhiman Samiti handles all public contributions with utmost care, accountability, and ethical governance.
1General Policy on Voluntary Contributions
Swabhiman Samiti is a grassroots non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Donations made to the Organization are voluntary contributions intended exclusively for programmatic activities such as digital learning classrooms, adolescent menstrual health dignity kits, and smallholder farmer collectives across Siddharthnagar and Eastern UP.
Because contributions are immediately mobilized toward purchasing field supplies and conducting village programs, donations once confirmed are generally considered final and non-refundable. However, we acknowledge that genuine clerical errors, unintentional duplicate transactions, and technical gateway glitches occasionally occur.
2Circumstances Where Refunds Are Granted
Swabhiman Samiti will promptly process a full refund in any of the following verified situations:
If your card, UPI account, or net banking was debited more than once for a single intended donation.
If a technical gateway error caused an amount higher than intended to be deducted from your account.
In verified cases of fraudulent or compromised banking instrument usage reported prior to settlement.
3How to Request a Refund (7-Day Window)
All refund inquiries must be submitted in writing to our Secretariat within 7 calendar days from the date of the transaction.
- Full Donor Name & Contact Mobile Number
- Transaction Reference Number (Gateway Payment ID or Bank UTR Number)
- Date and Exact Amount Debited
- Brief explanation of the technical error or duplication
- Copy of bank statement or debit SMS reflecting the duplicate deduction
4Important Tax & Section 80G Notice
If an official Section 80G Tax Exemption Certificate was already issued for the refunded donation, the certificate will be formally revoked and cancelled in our institutional ledger and reported accordingly in our annual Form 10BD filing with the Income Tax Department. You may not claim a tax deduction for any refunded contribution.
5Processing Timeline & Reversal Mode
Once your refund request is verified by our accounts desk (usually within 2 business days), the refund is initiated through the original payment method (same credit card, debit card, bank account, or UPI VPA).
Depending on your issuing bank's settlement schedule, funds typically reflect in your account within 5 to 7 banking days after approval.
