Annual Report 2024-2025
The year 2025 marked a significant chapter in Swabhiman Samiti’s mission to uplift and empower marginalized communities. Guided by our core values of inclusion, dignity, and grassroots leadership, we deepened our efforts across health, education, gender equity, and digital empowerment. This report highlights the milestones achieved, the challenges overcome, and the lives positively impacted through our collective work.
Our key initiatives—such as Project Chhalang for school-based physical literacy, the Kishori Sashaktikaran Pariyojna for adolescent health and rights, and the eVidyaloka EmpowerEd: Digital Literacy Program expanded in scope and depth. By integrating community feedback, strategic partnerships, and innovative tools, we strengthened service delivery and created inclusive spaces for learning, growth, and awareness.
This Annual Report is not just a summary of programs—it is a testament to the power of collaboration and the spirit of resilience. As we move forward, we remain committed to scaling impactful solutions, strengthening local leadership, and ensuring that every child, woman, and family has the opportunity to lead a life of dignity and purpose.
Annual Report 2023-2024
I am pleased to share Swabhiman Samiti’s key achievements for the year 2023–24, guided by our core values of transparency, accountability, and a rights-based approach. This year marked measurable growth in our mission to empower communities and advance equity in education, health, and livelihoods. We partnered with 60 government schools through the eVidyaloka program, bringing digital learning to over 2,800 students across rural Uttar Pradesh. Simultaneously, our Kishori Sashaktikaran Pariyojna empowered 450 adolescent girls, equipping them with knowledge about their health, rights, and aspirations.
Another major stride was made through Project Chhalang, where 320 teachers received capacity-building training, directly benefiting nearly 3,200 children by enhancing physical education and promoting social-emotional learning. In parallel, our community advocacy efforts led to two additional blocks achieving 100% immunization coverage. To support economic resilience, we facilitated revolving funds for 180 women’s self-help groups, helping strengthen rural livelihoods.
We also conducted digital literacy workshops for over 700 youth, bridging the divide in access to technology and opportunity. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our staff, partners, and community members. As we move into 2024–25, Swabhiman Samiti renews its commitment to deepening community-led change and ensuring that every individual can exercise their rights fully.
Annual Report 2022-2023
In 2022–23, Swabhiman Samiti continued its commitment to advancing the health, dignity, and rights of marginalized communities through focused interventions in adolescent health, sexual and reproductive rights, and public health preparedness. Guided by a participatory, rights-based approach, our efforts aimed to break taboos, enhance access to health services, and foster community-led awareness and accountability.
Through our adolescent-centered program “Know Your Body – Know Your Rights,” we reached nearly 700 families across 30 villages, equipping youth with life-changing knowledge on sexuality, consent, and bodily autonomy. In parallel, the “Breaking the Silence” initiative actively engaged men and boys in 12 villages, addressing long-standing silence around reproductive health and family planning—promoting respectful partnerships and informed decision-making.
Additionally, Swabhiman Samiti played a critical role in strengthening public health systems by supporting the 100% COVID Vaccination Campaign in collaboration with the Health Department, APPI, and Sahyog Society. Covering a population of over 74,000 in the CHC Uska Bazar area, our coordinated effort ensured full-dose vaccine coverage through grassroots mobilization and volunteer support. These integrated health programs reflect our belief in building informed, resilient communities that can access their rights and services without stigma or hesitation.
Annual Report 2021-2022
In 2021–22, Swabhiman Samiti continued to strengthen its focus on youth empowerment, gender justice, and emergency relief, responding to the evolving needs of the communities we serve. Grounded in our belief that informed and inclusive communities are the foundation of sustainable development, our programs this year combined education, rights awareness, and crisis support to foster long-term resilience and equality.
Through the Know Your Body, Know Your Rights (KYBKYR) program—supported by The YP Foundation—we reached adolescents in 14 villages and 3 schools of Uska Bazar block, equipping them with accurate, stigma-free information on sexuality, health, and human rights. Simultaneously, our family planning initiative mobilized 20 trained Community Champions across 10 villages, conducting over 120 community meetings annually to enhance awareness and access to reproductive health services.
Under the Sahayog program, we engaged 240 men and boys and 120 women through 12 gender justice groups, promoting shared responsibility and challenging the root causes of gender-based violence. Finally, during the devastating floods, our Flood Relief Programme—in partnership with ActionAid Association—provided immediate support to 200 affected families, offering food and hygiene essentials. These collective efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to building safer, healthier, and more equitable communities.
