Nutrition Kit Distribution by Swabhiman Samiti
Introduction:
Swabhiman Samiti, with the support of Sahayog Society Lucknow, distributed nutrition kits to 25 extremely poor families and single women in Uska Bazaar, Siddharthnagar. The objective of this initiative was to provide essential food supplies to vulnerable individuals and improve their nutritional intake.
Objective:
The goal was to support the most disadvantaged families and single women by providing them with nutritious food items. In addition, the program aimed to raise awareness about key health issues, including safe delivery, safe abortion, and Covid-19 vaccination.
Nutrition Kits Distributed:
Each of the 25 families or single women received a nutrition kit containing the following items:
- 500 grams of Herlicks
- 1 kg of Chickpeas (Chana)
- 1 kg of Lentils (Dal)
- 500 grams of Soybean Badi
- 250 grams of Turmeric Powder
These items were selected to offer a balanced nutritional supplement, providing necessary proteins, vitamins, and minerals that support better health, particularly for women and children.


Event Overview:
The distribution event was organized under the leadership of Swabhiman Samiti and attended by several community leaders. The initiative is part of the ongoing work of Swabhiman Samiti in 7 villages of Uska Bazaar block, where the organization is addressing issues related to safe delivery, safe abortion, and community health awareness.
Key Activities and Implementation:
- The nutrition kits were distributed to families in need across the designated villages in Vikas Khand Uska Bazaar.
- Awareness campaigns were also conducted to educate families about Covid-19 guidelines and the ongoing vaccination campaign.
- The event was chaired by Mrs. Mamta Verma, with the participation of Harinarayan, Suman, Priyanka, and Roshni, who assisted in the distribution and awareness activities.
Expected Outcomes:
The expected outcomes of this program are:
- Providing immediate nutritional support to 25 families and single women.
- Raising awareness about maternal health, safe delivery, and the importance of Covid-19 vaccinations.
- Encouraging healthier living by providing access to essential food items.
