Introduction:
On 20th October 2022, ActionAid Lucknow distributed flood relief materials to 108 families in the Hathiwadtal, Ramfal Tola, and Tiwari Tola areas of Uska Bazar. The initiative aimed to support families affected by the recent floods, providing them with essential food and non-food items to help them recover during the crisis.

Objective:
The primary objective of this initiative was to provide immediate relief to the families impacted by the floods by distributing essential supplies that include food items, hygiene products, and other necessary non-food materials. This effort was aimed at easing the burden on affected families and supporting their recovery.

Relief Materials Distributed:
The following items were provided to each of the 108 families:

  • Food Items:
    • 5 kg Rice
    • 10 kg Wheat Flour (Atta)
    • 1 kg Toor Dal (Arhar Dal)
    • 1 Liter Cold Pressed Food Oil
    • 250 g Tea Leaves
    • 100 g Turmeric Powder
    • 100 g Coriander Powder
    • 100 g Red Chilli Powder
    • 1 kg Salt
  • Non-Food Items:
    • 1 Bottle of Savlon
    • 1 Tube of Toothpaste
    • 1 Toothbrush
    • 1 Sanitary Napkin Pack
    • 1 Rin Soap
    • 1 Plastic Bucket
    • 1 Mug
    • 1 Tarpaulin (10X12 feet)

These items were carefully selected to provide essential support to families, focusing on food and hygiene products, along with necessary materials for daily use.

Event Overview:
The relief distribution event was inaugurated by Shri Shyamdhani Rahi, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Siddharthnagar, who was the chief guest at the event.

He spoke about the organization’s long-standing commitment to supporting communities in times of disaster.
  • Address by Shri Shyamdhani Rahi:
    • Shri Rahi, in his speech, acknowledged the significant role of ActionAid in providing relief during this difficult time. He praised the organization for its efforts to support flood victims with limited resources.
    • He also assured the affected families that those whose homes were destroyed due to the floods would be provided benefits under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. Furthermore, he emphasized that all flood victims would receive additional relief materials to aid in their recovery.

Key Activities and Implementation:
